Obviously I'm a dinosaur. I'll tell you a little bit more about that.
I'm a Parasaurolophus, which is a duck-billed dinosaur. I'm a plant eater, and scientists say that I lived in North America
during the late Creaceous. That was the last age of the dinosaurs, also the time of the "Mighty T-Rex." Trust me,
I've never had any problems with a Rex. Not like I'm over confident or anything, but I've just not had any problems with another
dinosaur wanting to eat me, me being a plastic replica and all. However if I weren't a plastic replica, I would be more than
30 feet long and weigh about three tons! Yeah, I wouldn't be able to even fit my foot in my cool little cage if I were that
big! Also, I think it would be likely humans would be threatened by me and come after me with spears if I were full size,
so I'm glad that I'm not!
Well, I'm known as a duck-billed dinosaur because of the crest on my head. It's hollow, or it would be if I weren't plastic,
and scientists have a lot of ideas about what it was for. One of them is that it was used for a snorkel. Unfortunately for
that scientist, I am a Parasaurolophus, and I can tell you that that hypothesis is dead wrong. And it makes me laugh. The
head crest is used to let other Parasaurolophus know where you are. Much like the wolves' howling is used today. The crest
makes a loud bellowing sound when air is blown through, and you can hear it from quite a distance. It is also used during
mating. The dinosaurs with the loudest call is a more desirable mate. However I've never used it for that purpose, because
as a toy designed for children, I have no reproductive organs.
I'm the pet dinosaur of Kiah, and she likes to tell people about me all the time. I live in a small terrarium in her
dorm room. I used to live in a larger one, but my new one is much more portable, which means I can move as Kiah does.
Kiah likes to watch a lot of television, which means I watch a lot too. My favourite shows are documentaries, especially
ones on ancient civilizations. I'm fascinated by how people lived long ago, before there was lots of modern technology.
Maybe because I'm a dinosaur, and there wasn't technology back where I'm from either.
